Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

I get asked quite a bit about the my home setup and the tools I use to design and build software, stay productive. Here’s a big list of all of my favorite stuff.

Workstation

  • 16” MacBook Pro, M1 Max, 32GB RAM (2021)

I was using an Intel-based 16” MacBook Pro prior to this which bricked itself when trying to update to Monterey. I’ve never heard the fans turn on a single time, even under the incredibly heavy loads I put it through with our various launch simulations.

  • LG UltraFine Ergo 31.5inch 4K Monitor

The ergonomic design of this monitor is what originally attracted me to it. It has simple cable management with easy adjustability of pivot, height and tilt, this is perfect for my standing desk.

  • Logitech MX Keys for Mac

I like the aesthetic minimalism look and its handy to be able to use multiple computers with one flow.

  • Logitech MX Master 3 for Mac

Fantastic to use for digital creators. The ability to customise each of the buttons for different applications makes this mounse super useful and speeds up my workflow.

  • OmniDesk Electric Standing Desk

Sit or stand, OmniDesk gives me full control of how I want to work.

  • ErgoTune Supreme

If I’m going to slouch in the worst ergonomic position imaginable all day, I might as well do it in an expensive chair.

Dev Tools

  • VS Code

I've found VS Code to have the nicest workflow for me '

Design

  • Figma

We started using Figma as just a design tool but now it’s become our virtual whiteboard for the entire company. Never would have expected the collaboration features to be the real hook.

Productivity

  • Notion

I think about a lot of different things each day, Notion makes it quick and easy for me to capture my thoughts.

  • Atlassian

Confluence allows me to capture all my project documentation.
